6) And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of

Nazareth, which was crucified: He is risen; He is not here: behold the place where they laid Him.

7 But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that He goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see Him, as He said unto you.
I was reading these verses this morning before church and two things struck me when I read about that first Resurrection Day. (Easter). First, the angels knew that these women were seeking Jesus and second the directive that they were given was to go and tell.
Good words for today. Now, we know these two women were seeking Jesus, but they thought they were going to find a dead body. Many people today think, what does a man who lived two thousand years ago have to do with me today? They treat Jesus, just as these two women were treating Him that morning due to their lack of knowledge, they were expecting to find a dead body.
God knew this. His angels knew this! But don’t miss the point here: THEY WERE SEEKING HIM. They out of their love for Him were seeking to anoint His body with spices. But their thinking was flawed as they figured He was dead from what they had witnessed in their life three days prior when he was crucified.
How about you? Have you witnessed things in your life that made you feel like God is dead, or at least uninvolved in your life? Maybe you have lost a loved one, or maybe you have been dealt some very hard blows and wonder how can a good God have let this happened! Take heart! This story then is about people just like you!
These women loved God and were good people following Jesus and were his loving friends. Yet they witnesses the most horrific scene of their God, their Saviour being crucified! How does one deal with that? Thinking that their God is dead? See, they weren’t much different than us. They could very well have been thinking how on earth could God allow this to happen. If there was a loving God, He wouldn’t have allowed this to happen. Have you ever been there in your life?
Bu listen and understand my friend God NEVER forsook them! He was and still is ALWAYS there for them. The point here is that even though their thinking was wrong, as they were expecting to find a dead body, God’s goodness did not fail them!!! Not then, not now, not ever!!
So as they sought their God, even if it was for a reason that they thought was important to God, but was really futile, GOD STILL MEET THEM RIGHT WHERE THEY WERE! They were going to anoint a dead body, but God met them with a supernatural visit from His holy angels to proclaim to them the wonderful news of Christ being risen!
God did not belittle them for bringing spices to anoint a dead body. God knew right where they were and what they were doing. He knew there was no point in them doing it, but BECAUSE THEY WERE SEEKING GOD, GOD REVEALED TO THEM WHAT THE NEXT STEP OF THE PLAN WAS! Sometimes, even those of us serving God get our thinking messed up as well. We think God wants us to do this or that, and it doesn’t work out. Take heart: these women had their plans changed in mid stream and for the better, but this only happened because they were still seeking Him!
So a word of encouragement, don’t lose heart, Don’t lose courage, don’t lose faith! No matter what life has thrown at you, just like these women, there was an enemy at work who wanted them to fail. Who wanted them to lose the faith. Who wanted to destroy them, BUT GOD DESTROYED THE ENEMY!
His power that first Resurrection morning totally annihilated the enemy on his own turf when JESUS ROSE FROM THE GRAVE that Satan tried to hold Him in, and He took the keys of death and hell off of Satan, so no one ever has to be afraid of dying again!
God Himself ripped the curtain in the Holy of Holies in two, signifying that the separation between God and man has come to an end, and that now WE HAVE A BETTER COVENANT, A BETTER WAY, ONE OF DIRECT, PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP AND FELLOWSHIP WITH THE MOST HIGH GOD, FILLED WITH HIS HOLY SPIRIT TO LIVE AND MOVE AND HAVE OUR BEING IN HIM!
So if you have been serving God and seemed to have gotten off track somewhere or if you do not know God, thinking that he cares little or nothing for you based on your life experiences, TAKE HEART! GOD LOVES YOU AND HAS A PLAN THAT IS SO TREMENDOUS FOR YOU THAT YOU CAN NOT EVEN IMAGINE HOW WONDERFUL IT IS!!! Even in the midst of tragedy, God brings gladness out of sorrow,
which brings me to my next point.
GO AND TELL!  What a wonderful God we serve! God met these women and gave them the best news of all eternity and even though they were probably at one of the lowest points of their faith:  they still had faith to seek God.  These women who were in grief and sorrow, trying to just do what they knew to do, not understanding God’s plan of salvation, were given the best message ever:  one that we still have today: GO AND TELL!!
No other religion on earth throughout eternity has had a Savior that has beaten death!  NONE!  Only JESUS CHRIST HAS CONQUERED BOTH SIN AND DEATH by living a holy, sinless life, born of a virgin and freely given His life for us, so that we do not have to be afraid of death, as Jesus was crucified for sins He never committed! He conquered death and has given us abundant life, eternal life and one that is filled with the power of His Holy Spirit.  Our directive is clear.  It is simple.  It is life-changing and powerful.  It is anointed from on high:  GO AND TELL!  Tell others what Christ has done for you!
If you do not know Him, what are you waiting for?! Now is the time to give your heart to Him.  He IS still alive today.  He IS still waiting for you to seek Him.  He is still as close as your heart’s prayer on your lips.  Just tell Him you love Him.  Tell Him you are sorry for doubting Him.  Tell Him you believe that HE is still alive today and ask Him to come into your heart and fill you with His Holy Spirit.  He will!  Just like the angels, He is waiting for you to come and seek Him.  He is waiting for you to bring your broken hearts, your broken dreams and your broken lives to Him, just like the women did that first Easter morning.  He is waiting!  Do it now and then GO AND TELL others what He has done for you!!

Hello Again!

It has been quite a while since I last wrote and I am anticipating in the very near future being able to write again with some regularity, as writing is a passion.  I just visited this site for the first time in years and reviewed my old sit and spin post.  This was very encouraging to me:  to take a look back,  and see how far I have come.  Although the truth still rings true:  God is waiting for us to do our part to have victory, my understanding has sooo changed.  God IS GOOD all the time and I don’t have to wait, pray and hope:  I only have to act on His Word and enjoy the victory which He has already provided for me through Jesus Christ His Son and my Savior.

So stay tuned….Not sure how long or if anyone even watches this anymore, but I am excited to be able to write again soon.  Thank you God for your Presence, Power and the Holy Spirit which helps me to do your will.  I will just end with this one scripture:  I love Him, because He first loved me.  God bless!

Exodus 14:13-16

And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will show to you today:  for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye sahll see them again no more forever. 14) The LORD shall fight for you and ye shall hold your peace. 15) And the LORD said unto Moses, wherefore criest thou unto me?  Speak unot the children of Israel that they go foreward. 16) But lift up the\y rod and stretch out thy hand over the sea, and divide it; and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

In this I see a leader Moses who remains calm – at least on the outside- because he knows that God has no intention of letting them die at the hands of their enemies.  Moses KNOWS how God appeared to him in a bush.  Moses KNOWS how Gd sent him back to Israel to lead the people out of Egypt.  Moses KNOWS first hand how God performed miracle after miracle to the point where they were able to leave their enemy with abundance; and Moses KNOWS that they serve a GOOD GOD, THE ONE TRUE GOD OF HEAVEN AND EARTH AND ALL THAT IS IN IT; The ONLY TRUE GOD who would not bring them this far to let them perish.

I also see Moses instructs the people to:

#1) Fear not and

#2) Stand still

and then he tells them what will happen: – gives them hope if you will -, to instill faith in them that they will never see this enemy again after today!

Then I love how the Lord doesn’t stop there but He commands faith from Moses to speak unto the children of Israel to go forward into the sea.

Ok – Let’s test their faith – I see then as the  Leader He tells Moses to stretch forth his rod and his hand over the sea and divide it.  Wow: pay attention Karen Sue:  It does NOT say and I will divide it, saith the Lord, but IT DOES SAY -MOSES YOU DO THIS!

Moses was to lift up the rod which we know represents the Word of God and we know that God watches over His Word to perform it , or He will hasten His Word to Perform it (Jeremiah 1:12) That Hebrew word hastens  is shaqad- shaw-kad’ and it means to be alert, sleepless, hence to be on the lookout (whether for good or ill) hasten, remain, wake, and watch for.

So as I am reading this Father I see that You are in a reflective state here; not an active state; but rather You commanded Moses to be active and I draw the conclusion that God is telling man to to be active as Moses was a man.

Jeremiah 1:12 the word perform has a lengthy definition in the Strong’s Concordance but in that definition I see words that are both active  (like: accomplish, bring forth, be busy, exercise, labour, etc) and words that are more passive (like: appoint, bestow, have the charge of, furnish, follow, observe,  etc)

Now in this definition of the word perform I see a wonderful combination of reflective and active words, meaning to the best of my understanding Holy Spirit that God: -together with man–uses His Word to bring about His desired goal.

So in essence:  God as powerful as He is and can do anything alone:  chooses man to work with Him so MAN can accomplish God’s goal: – So Moses (man) by uphold God’s Word (the rod) departed the red sea! Wow.  Truly I, Karen Sue can do ALL things through Christ who (reflectively and actively ) strengthens me (Phil. 4:13) as I walk in Him.

And if this is not something to shout about then I do not know what would be!  The Holy Spirit revealed to me the day I joined the church and was slain in the Spirit that I, Karen Sue am a supernatural being and here it is: right in the scriptures that I am-that we are–So, let’s grab a hold of the Rod(Word) and run with it!

Christmas is not songs. it is not a tree. it is not gifts. it is not a meal, it is not being with family and friends, it is not new clothes, new toys, or new gadgets, it is not looking at the lights, or lighting candles.  It is not going to church or even santa clause, reigndeer, snowmen, hot chocolate or cookies!

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Hello all.  Yes it has been a while and this wacky, crazy gal is once again on the move!  I have now moved to PA “back home” as they say to help care for my aging father.  I have purchased a duplex where he will live on the first floor and I will live in the penthouse suite (lol: my new term for the upstairs unit)!

Seriously though I apologize for being out of touch but will strive to do better.  Right now I tell folks I have purchased a project as the house is almost 100 years old.  I have NEVER thought of myself as a DO-IT-YOURSELFER-; but with this home I find I am stepping up to the plate and at least for the moment I am enjoying it.

WELL KNOW THIS: FOR THE LORD IS GOOD AND HIS MERCY ENDURETH FOREVER! Yes, keeping the joy in my life is easy when I trust my Father to take care of me.  He can provide peace in ANY situation and I just have to determine to trust Him.  After all, He has my back!  Love to all.  Will write more later.

FAITH OR WORKS? A simple question but the answer makes an eternal difference.  Reading through the book of Galatians I find this is an issue that the apostle Paul dealt with and one the Holy Spirit used Paul to tell us about.

Paul was an apostle of God sent to deliver the Gospel to the Gentile people, non Jews like you and I.  Christ had given him his assignment and he spent the next 30 years fulfilling his purpose in the kingdom of God.  Peter was also an apostle, one of the twelve disciples that followed Jesus personally as He ministered here on earth.

Both men Jews.  God had ordained that the gospel, or the Good News of salvation through faith in Jesus be delivered to the Jews first and then to the Gentiles.  Peter was an instrument of this good news to the Jewish people.  At that time the Jews did not associate with the Gentiles, nor did they eat with them.  However, the Lord gave Peter a vision where He told Peter not to call that which He had created unclean.  God then immediately sent Peter to a man’s home named Cornelius who was a Gentile.  This man loved God and was told by an angel of God that Peter would come and tell him how he and his  house could be saved, and that is exactly what happened! Peter was filled with joy and awe at how God was working as this was NEW AND NOT THE NORM for Jewish people to associate with the Gentiles; but Peter knew this was of God and as they rejoiced he ate and stayed with them a few days. (Acts 10:1-48)

Fast forward a few years when Paul is on the mission field and he is reaching the lost Gentiles with the good news of eternal salvation of grace through faith.  Peter came to hang out with Paul and Barnabas and everything was going well until some other Jewish leaders showed up.  At this point Peter removed himself from eating with the Gentiles and would only eat with the Jews. Many of the other Jewish Christ followers saw this and did likewise, but Paul when he saw that Peter was more concerned about what these men thought of him then following God’s teachings actually confronted him, because he was to be blamed! (Galatians 2:11-14)

Now to fully appreciate and understand how it relates to today is that the Jewish Christians had, before Christ, shown they were followers of God by being circumcised.  They also followed many man made rules that their spiritual leaders put on them, IN ADDITION to what God had given Moses in the law.  So these guys were ok with allowing God to convert the previously hated Gentiles, as long as the Gentiles followed THEIR rules.

BUT GOD,  –  my two favorite words,  –  was not playing their game.  He had His Own agenda and still does. He had told Peter not to call them unclean. He did not care about their man made rules, He was establishing HIS eternal kingdom, and it was not in the natural things like washing your hands before you eat, or if you were circumcised or not; But HIS Kingdom is in the HEART.  YES, THE HEART of men and women’s lives.  He cares about them and He wants them to be completely surrendered to Him.  He loves men whether they are red, yellow, black or white.  GOD LOVES MANKIND! read that again:  GOD LOVES MANKIND!  GOD – LOVES – YOU!!

I hope that sinks in.  I truly do.  For you see we have our own epidemic of spiritual sickness going on today just like Paul and Peter did.  The same slippery, slimy creature of Satan attempting to wreck havoc and chaos on the Church of Jesus Christ.

This epidemic is one of works versus faith.  Very subtle, very slippery and slimy which makes it hard at times to grab hold of: but Father give us Your Eyes to see this truth.  There are those who believe that Jesus saves, but……..-….and then they proclaim that you can not do this and that and if you commit a sin and die then you will still go to hell. Hogwash!  Let that man be accursed! (Galatians 1: 8-9) To blindly lead men and women down that road of Christ’s finished work on Calvary is not enough for you to get to heaven if you commit a sin and you must be saved again when you blow it.  HOGWASH!  LET THAT MAN BE ACCURSED.  If this was the case, Peter would be in hell since he had sinned.

This is NOT scriptural teaching.  This is from the pit of hell and most unsuspecting people desiring to know God follow it because it sounds like truth and they do not know the Word for themselves to know it is a lie!  Let’s face it:  WE ARE ALL NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO BE SAVED!!  IF WE WERE JESUS WOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO COME TO DIE FOR OUR SINS!

Why would He leave heaven and die for us and then tell us we can’t get to heaven if we sin again?  Was His death on the cross not enough to cover our sins?  So many scriptures reveal God’s love for us and that if we ask Christ into our hearts and we sin, then He will forgive us of our sin if we repent.

Now here is some of the slipperiness.  FEAR tells us that if we sin we are no good and God will not accept us.  Let’s change that word fear to Satan:  Satan tells us that if we sin, we are no good and God will not accept us.

Remember what I said earlier about God’s kingdom was an internal kingdom: one of the heart.  This means your heart.  You see if you have not fully surrendered your heart to the Lord, then it is easy to fool people into thinking you are a Christian by going to church and doing good things. However, there is the nagging knowledge that you haven’t changed.  You are the same miserable, sinful creature you were before, only now you can add being a hypocrite,  like Peter did to the Jewish boys, to your list of sins as you try to appear to be good.

So, what is this Christian faith?  OF THE HEART.  What does that mean?  It means, deep down inside of you, where you think and feel and have your very being, all that you are: you must surrender to CHRIST recognizing that your way IS no good but His way is.  This is where people get tripped up.

They want to do works, because it is easier than full heart commitment.  There is no real commitment.  They can just show up at church, put some money in the plate, tell of how much they love God, even cry and pray and sing, but then they go out and live any way they want.  This is NOT what it means to be a Christian.

SO WHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE?  SURRENDERING YOUR WILL.  God has created all of us with a freewill and we CHOOSE to follow Christ.  We count the cost and realize that His way is far better than our way.  The next step is making a full surrender.  YES -FULL surrender.  We can not hold on to our old ways, lying, cheating, stealing, sex outside of marriage and the list goes on and on.  So what is one to do then?  We get our will involved and we surrender to God and tell Him we are sorry and we believe that Jesus is God’s Son, the Christ who redeems us. And then we turn and walk the other way, His way.

NOW for the GOOD NEWS PART!  As we repent and tell God how sorry we are for our sins, we then ask Jesus to come into our hearts.  He DOES.  This is great news!  He does not leave us alone, but He comes and actually LIVES IN OUR HEARTS.  Have you ever noticed a true believer how there is something truly different about them?  It is not what they do necessarily or what they wear but it is who they are that is different.  THERE IS A CHANGE.  A TRANSFORMATION.  THIS IS GREAT NEWS!

Don’t let fear hold you back.  Remember this fear is not new.  Remember when I said Peter saw the vision from God and God sent him to a Gentile’s house.  This was not the norm for him and it definitely was not culturally acceptable for him to be doing this; BUT-IT IS WHAT GOD WANTED HIM TO DO.  And praise God he did, because I am not a Jew and now I have salvation because he and others dared to follow Christ and share the good news with a non Jew.  So how about it?

Do you think you might get some push back from people who tell you you can not know for sure you are going to heaven.  Let me ask you, do you want to put your hope of eternal salvation in what someone else says or in what the scriptures say?  Look here and see for yourself:

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

Yes, good works are important, but they come OUT OF a relationship with Christ.  They are NOT a requirement for salvation, but rather the result of salvation.  They come automatically after you give your heart to the Lord.  Your want to’s and your desires change when you give your heart to the Lord.

Sure, you will still blow it and sin from time to time. But once you are saved, when you sin it will break your heart too because you want to please God.  God knows that you are not perfect:  He created you!  That is why He tells us:  If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9    Did you catch that?  Not only does He forgive us but He also CLEANSES us from all unrighteousness.  Isn’t that wonderful?!  He washes it away.

When you sin, don’t run away and hide like Adam and Eve did in the garden of Eden, but COME TO HIM.  TELL HIM YOU ARE SORRY.  There is no need to go to the altar and get saved again.  HIS BLOOD paid the penalty for your sin once and for all on the cross of Calvary.  No need to be baptized again.  JUST COME TO JESUS AND GIVE HIM YOUR HEART AND BELIEVE.  YES BELIEVE.  BELIEVE THAT HE WILL FORGIVE YOU.  BELIEVE THAT HE LOVES YOU.  BELIEVE THAT HE SAVES YOU AND NOT YOUR WORKS.  DO NOT believe the devil’s lie that He is mad at you and you are no longer saved.  Think about it.  God is our Father when we give our heart to Him.  As a parent, do you give up your children when they do something wrong?  No-YOU ARE STILL THEIR PARENT AND GOD IS STILL OUR FATHER EVEN WHEN WE BLOW IT.

So, in conclusion:  just think about it! Don’t just write this off.  If you read this far it is for a reason.  GOD LOVES YOU! HE HAS A PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE AND IT IS A GOOD PLAN FULL OF HOPE!  Give Him your heart today.  Contact me anytime with any questions: GOD BLESS.

ROMANS 3:10 – As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.

ROMANS 3:23 – For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

ROMANS 5:12 – Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.

ROMANS 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

ROMANS 5:8 – But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

ROMANS 10:9-11 – That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.

Just a thought: God wants me and not my ministry

Today I was sitting her folding laundry and I had a thought occur to me.  God wants me and not my ministry.  I know without a shadow of a doubt that I would rather have all ministry come to a standstill if I am not walking and communing intimately with my Lord.  It is easy however to get caught up in the captivity of ministry of “doing good”; for what good is there apart from God? Really….just thinking out loud.

Lord Jesus keep me close to your side and allow me to enjoy the moments You give me like you just did: the wrong phone number call that I just  received in an opportunity to share your love as I just did and pray for a stranger as I am sitting here talking to you.  May all ministry come directly from my walk with You Lord.  I love You Lord Jesus . Knowing God gives us an assurance of His love for us.  for me–personally.  There is much religion out there called Christianity.  Many variances of what man must do to please God  to go to heaven when he dies.  But religion continues to separate man from God.

Believe in Jesus’s work on the cross for you and confess with your mouth that Jesus is LORD.  Believing involves your heart.  It is not a one time decision but a commitment for life.  Take a moment and count the cost.  HE WILL save you if you only believe in Him and depend on HIM to save you and not your good works.  KNOWING GOD GIVES US AN ASSURANCE OF HIS LOVE FOR US. FOR ME–AND FOR YOU–PERSONALLY.

I am posting a previously written work I did on 1/7/15 as a dear friend sent it to me today remembering me.  I felt it was worth sharing again.  Thanks Dinah! God bless.

This year I am sensing the need for the Power of God to be revealed more than ever before. The nations cry out more and more with the evil of this world. Satan is in his hey day.   My question is where is the church? Where is Christ’s Presence felt? Where is the Power of God?
The simple fact is that the church is not as dedicated to God as sinners are to Satan. Oh, sinners may not realize this because they are deceived; but Saints, ,,, come on!
We waffle in our sins, not willing to lay them at Christ’s feet. Hit the delete button already! It takes lives sold out to Christ to make the difference. Why are there not more? (answer: unbelief)
Christ has more power than Satan. Christ assures victory. But victory comes by the Blood of the Lamb and by the Word of our testimony. It takes sold out lives. Too often we start to get close to Christ and then He is revealed to us and we like Peter say Depart from me for I am a sinful man.
Peter did not want to leave Jesus; but Peter was shown Who Christ really is and in his sinful humanity he realized who he was. So, how do we walk in God’s Presence and see His Power manifested in our lives? How do we get closer to Christ when our sins are revealed?
First and foremost, DO NOT RUN AWAY FROM HIM no matter how uncomfortable you may begin to feel in His Presence.  Your discomfort is caused by the sin in your life. It is NOT caused by Him being angry with you. That is a lie from Satan.  God is not angry with you; He loves you. He is Love.  He is the ONLY answer. There is no where else to go.
If you are feeling uncomfortable when you get closer to Him it’s because of your sin and He loves you enough to show you that your sin is not good for you. Like cancer He wants you to get rid of it. Ask Him for His help. Call out to Him. He who is Faithful will not leave you nor disregard you. He wants you to get rid of the sin and get closer to Him because He loves you and has great things in store for you; but He can not give them to you unto you give Him yourself.
Hit the delete button on sin and remove it from the delete file. Trash it! Ask Him for forgiveness and then repent. (This means stop doing it! Ask Him for His Spirit to help you! He will!) Blessed is the man that over cometh temptation for when he is tried he shall receive the crown of life which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him. NOTHING is more important than walking with the Lord. What are you doing right now as you read this? Is it what God wants you to be doing? Is it glorifying to Him?
Why do we think that we can spend time with God when it is convenient for us to do so? Oh, I am not knocking our regularly scheduled times of fellowship with Him; But why do we not carry His conscious Presence with us 24 hours a day? Are you cooking dinner? Do it to His glory. Pray for those you are cooking for. Thank Him for the blessing of His provision. Thank Him for His abundance and daily care. Ask Him if you need to take some to a neighbor.
This is only an example but we must desire to LISTEN TO HIM.  We must desire to Know HIM better. Better than anything else, our desire for Him must be First and foremost.
I believe what the Bible says. Lord help me to live what I believe because my actions tell the world what I actually do believe. So do yours. 24/7. Our beliefs do not take a break. They reveal who we really are.
2015 can be a year like none other if we follow Christ with our ENTIRE being.  How about it? Who is willing to put their hands to the plow? and not run away?
In Christ’s love: Your sis
